Welcome to happy hour at Chuy's! This new-ish tex-mex chain restaurant is located by the Fairfax Wal-Mart near the intersection of Rt 29 and Rt 50. This spot, that many people in the area don't even know exists, was formerly a Chili's but the new setup is looking good and the happy hour is absolutely awesome.

Anywhere that serves FREE nachos (with ground beef and awesome queso) out of the trunk of a Cadillac is ok with me. They also have some specials on Margaritas, beer and martinis too! Here's everything you need to know about one of Fairfax's "secret" happy hours.




Clearly the exciting part about this happy hour (weekdays, 4pm-7pm) is the free nacho bar. After you order your drink at the bar you serve yourself out of the trunk of a car with nachos, ground beef, queso and tomato salsa. The whole time you are hanging out feel free to walk on back over and get refills too. All of this is complimentary, which is great with a nacho bar, but the ground beef makes it a huge WOW.





The Legend's Tip: Order the frozen Margarita and have the bartender mix up the 2 or 3 flavors together for a much better drink...




As this is a happy hour it means there are also a few drink specials. They are pretty simple. $3 domestic bottles (including Legend favorite Michelob Ultra...don't laugh), $5.25 house margaritas (regular or frozen in 3 flavors - Mango, Lime, Strawberry - or a mix) and $8 house Texas Martini which is some kind of crazy tequila drink served in a weird shaker thing.





The free nachos are amazing and the swirl margarita was very delicious. The atmosphere is bright and filled with flair like your classic Tex-Mex spot and it is a pretty fun place to sit at the bar and guzzle some drinks.

I was shocked that this place existed and when I saw the car trunk filled with goodies I was shocked even more. What an awesome surprise, and right in the middle of Fairfax!  How about one more pic of the nachos for the road...
