Welcome to happy hour at the blue Iguana. This weekday happy hour is great because it runs all the way up until 8pm, an extra hour of specials compared to most of the bars in the area. The setting is a little dark and divey (the patio is great though) and there are a lot of old regulars at the bar, but if you want some cheap food and drinks (or Fireball shots if you are going nuts) in Fair Lakes this is your spot. Here's everything you need to know about happy hour at Blue Iguana.

Happy hour is Monday - Friday from when they open all the way up until 8pm. Unlike several local bars, if you choose to sit out on the patio instead of in the bar area you will be still be able to take advantage of the happy hour specials, and this is recommended on nice days. This isn't your craft beer haven, but if you don't mind throwing back Bud Lights and eating bar food this is a great spot. It is even quietly a decent spot to bring a casual happy hour date because it is somewhere the other person may have never been and it is quiet and calm enough to enjoy a conversation.

The Legend's Tip: No need to order their happy hour beer specials. Grab a seat on the patio and ask about their daily $4 craft beer special...Or go with $3 a 16oz PBR, both all day pricing.




Beer:

Blue Iguana offers up your typical bar happy hour. It's almost too typical. Domestic bottles and drafts are available for $3. This is your basic happy hour price. If you pay more than $3 for a domestic during happy hour you are doing it wrong. The 16oz PBR cans are ALWAYS $3, and that is what I like to go with for those precious extra 4 ounces at the same price. They also offer a different craft beer each day of the week for $4 which may be your best bet. They don't mention this when you ask about happy hour, so ask.

• $3 16oz Tall Boy PBR Cans (All Day Every Day)

Wine:

House wine is available on special during happy hour as well for $3.50 and they have 5 different varieties to choose from. This seems like a very good price on wine which is typically $5 minimum just about everywhere in the area.

Rail Drinks & Liquor:

Rail drinks are available during happy hour for $3.50. This is another great deal as many places price their rails at $5. Aside from the rails one of the awesome specials they have (for people who aren't over it yet...and you soon will be if you aren't) is that shots of Fireball are $3 all day and all night every day. Red Stagg is also included in this every day $3 special.

The Legend's Tip: You have to try the wings, specifically the barbecue wings...

Appetizers:

Blue Iguana offers 4 different appetizers on special for $5 during happy hour. It isn't a huge selection but it covers your basics and it really helps to soak up those domestic beers and fireball shots in your stomach. The wings were absolutely delicious.

• Buffalo Wings (6 Piece - A few basic flavors I don't recall and barbecue)
• Nacho Platter (10 inch diameter)
• Quesadilla (10 inch diameter)
• Chicken Tenders (2 piece - dipping sauce)

So that is what you can expect when you head to Blue Iguana during happy hour. Some cheap beer, bar snacks, and if you want to get crazy you can, all for a very affordable price.
