Today (Monday, 8/10), Dogfish Head Alehouse in Fairfax will be featuring a local Virginia brewery on 2 of its taps in honor of Virginia Craft Beer Month.  Dogfish will feature two brews from Warrenton's Old Bust Head Brewing Company, their Saison and their 10th Goldcup. These 2 beers will be on tap today only and its a great chance to enjoy some local beer.

First Watch Daytime Cafe is a breakfast restaurant located in Greenbriar Shopping Center of Fairfax. They offer a variety of breakfast and lunch options. It is one of the few places in Fairfax where you can get breakfast. I went down to First Watch and struck gold with my first order, a new Legend's Pick, the Tri-fecta breakfast.

This bar in the lobby of a high rise office building has been under several different ownerships over the years and the new iteration, Red Zone, is going strong. It is sort of a combo of night club / pool hall / bar but they have a happy hour (although the bartender didn't explain it despite asking a bunch of times for specifics) and I went down there to check it out.

They also have a few other specials depending on the day you are there. I went down to the Turtle to check out their weekday happy hour.

I know nothing about Thai food. I've been to thai restaurants for dates, because they always have good date ambiance, and for work lunches because my boss makes sure we go somewhere that has foods nobody has ever heard of. Every time I've ever gone to a thai spot I've ordered the mussels. That is the only thing I could order where I knew what I was getting. Well I decided to be bold, and after staring at the menu at Similians Thai Eatery for 10 minutes (with the waiter coming back every 2 to see if I was ready) and google imaging about 20 items, I decided to step up and order something, the Beef Kra Pow, which the menu described as "one of the most famous thai dishes". If all else failed I knew there would be meat in the dish and I could salvage something out of it. Well the food came out and Ding! Ding! Ding! I hit the jackpot. I now have a goto dish next time I find myself at a thai place.

As a guy who is ALWAYS barbecue over buffalo when it comes to chicken, I wasn't expecting much when I decided to order the buffalo wing pizza from Buffalo Wing Factory. Despite realizing how much I love the buffalo sauce at BWF last week , I came into the whole thing skeptical. But what I found out after eating the pizza ended up shocking me quite a bit.

Epicure is a coffee shop style bar located in the old John's Place location. The bar offers a happy hour with specials on food, draft beers and wine. I went down to Epicure to check it out for myself.
