Lunch In Fairfax: Stone Hot Pizza Lunch Special

Stone Hot Pizza is a brick oven pizza place located in the Pender Shopping Center (next to Harris Teeter). Every day they offer a one topping pizza lunch special for just 6 bucks. After a failed earlier attempt to enjoy some food there before (computer system was down...at noon...) I finally had my chance to get in and get my pie on.

The lunch special is very simple. For $6.40 ($7.40 with a large fountain soda) you get a personal one topping pizza. They have a variety of toppings to choose from, and I'm not 100% sure (they had some bizarre customer service), but I believe you can choose any one of their regular toppings. They throw together the pizza real quick, throw it back in the brick oven, and in 8-10 minutes you have yourself a nice little pizza.

The Legend's Tip: Call ahead before you show up because if not you will be waiting up to 10 minutes for your pizza...





The pizza was about 10 inches across. The crust was like super thin on the bottom, but nice and thick to hold on to. The pie had a lot of sauce on it. The pepperoni I had was delicious and the crust cooked up nice in the oven.  Overall it was a good pizza, not as filling as other pizza deals in the area but a more gourmet style quality.

I also added a fountain drink for an extra buck. The plastic cup you get is very big for a to-go soda, so that's not bad. I'm not sure if the special runs all day or if there is a specific time when it ends.

Oh and the regular toppings: Anchovies, Bacon, Black Olives, Broccoli, Feta, Basil, Garlic, Green Olives, Green Peppers, Jalapenos, Meatballs, Mushrooms, Onions, Pepperoni, Pineapple, Sausage, Spinach, Tomatoes and  Zucchini. If they all count then I can't believe I went with Pepperoni! Those toppings are much better and make it a more unique, but still cheap lunch special.

Overall a good bang for your buck!
